Gust of Good News
Teachers and staff cheer as Wellington Middle School’s wind turbine rises into the sky on February 15. Wellington’s turbine is the first of six installations at Colorado schools — part of the Wind for Schools Program, a collaborative effort among the Governor’s Energy Office, Colorado State University and federal agencies. The school worked with Mike Carmien of Hydro Electric LLC and CSU’s Wind Application Center to complete the project.
